What should I know before I get eyelash extensions?
• Natural lashes need to be straight for successful eyelash extension application.
• Do not perm lashes prior to eyelash extension procedure; curly lashes are difficult for perfect bonding.
• Mascara on natural lashes should be completely removed before the eyelash extensions are applied.
• As a rule of thumb, the eyelash extensions should be 1/2 - 1/3 longer than the length of the clients’ natural lashes.
• Proper bonding is the secret to successful eyelash extensions. Any separation between the eyelash extension and the client's lashes will compromise the bond and the effects will be short lived.
What do I need to know after the eyelash extensions applied?
• Do not allow contact with water for up to 12 hours if possible.
• Only use oil free products.
• Avoid perming lashes extensions.
• Do not use lash curler-extensions and natural lashes will break.
Pat lashes dry after cleansing.
Avoid rubbing eyes while washing face.
Why do eyelash extensions commonly fall off?
• Mascara residue on natural eyelashes will compromise the contact are between eyelashes and eyelash extensions.
• Eyelash extensions applied to curly or permed lashes will not adhere properly. Eyelash extensions work best on straight eyelashes.
• Natural lashes fall out due to the clients lash life cycle.
• The eyelash extensions were in contact with water within 12 hours after the extension procedure. Rubbing eyes, facial steaming or taking a steam bath is not recommended within two days of the procedure.
What kind of maintenance can I expect?
The natural lash life cycle is about 100 days. The eyelash extensions may fall off during this period because of the natural life cycle or negligent care by the client. A fill in service should be done in about 2-3 weeks after initial application.
